Botswana Government has sent out two teams of officials to assess the food and agricultural situation (drought) country-wide. The assessment started on 16th April 2012 and will last until 6th May 2012.
Kazungula Bridge Construction Project, Japan International Co-operation Agency (Loan Authorisation) Bill has been presented before Parliament seeking approval to enable government to raise P 833 million to part finance a project which will consist of road and rail bridge, border facilities as well as access roads.
European Union granted Botswana 250 million Pula budget support, which will be blended with the Government's own budgetary resources in the interests of streamlined management and control. The blending is done to reduce transaction costs for Government but also because EU has confidence in the country's management of public finance.
Legislators have been thanked for their questions, comments and general suggestions on improving some policy interventions as well as support of the proposed budget for the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
